Sheetmetal Fabrication Projects - Metal Punching - Sheet Metal Fabrication Manufacturing Robot

Sheet Metal Fabrication punching and metal stamping is much more than just making holes in sheet metal. The Marlin Steel CNC Sheet metal fabrication punch press allows complete machining. Each sheet metal part is almost completely fabricated on one machine. Upstream and downstream metal stamping production steps become unnecessary. The more a metal stamping machine has to offer, the more precisely it can produce and complete complex sheet metal work. This is where Marlin Steel metal fabrication punching machines really take the lead - in addition to pure punching technology, they also offer various metal forming capabilities: from recesses of various depths with just one tool, to bending, to continuous contour beads, steps or separating cuts. Smooth cutting with the MultiShear tool is an option with the Marlin Steel, as are thread tapping and scribing parts.

Marlin Steel has the Best Tooling Available
to Manufacture Your Products with
Efficiency, Speed and Precision

Marlin has decades of experience using high-quality metal fabrication, metal stamping, punching and forming tools. Our factory has a range of tools for our punching machines enabling us to manufacture any size and any shape product that you may need. Our international sales structure and global logistics network ensure fast delivery anywhere in the world.

With the metal fabrication MultiBend tool, we can bend strips up to 1 inch tall and 2 inches long faster than on any press brake - and with high quality.

MultiShear metal fabrication provides cut edges so smooth they are virtually indistinguishable from laser cut edges. But, at the low costs you expect from punching.

Metal stamping Wheel tools are especially fast - whether we are cutting, offsetting or beading. With 360 degrees rotation technology, wheel technology is possible even for circles and curves.

Our latest metal stamping tool innovation is our patent-pending metal fabrication deburring unit. In the past deburring work pieces was an addition step, now Marlin Steel takes care of it for you.

This metal fabrication unit saves a complete operation and lowers your costs. The principle is simple. The burr is displaced and the edge beveled. It even works with coated parts, since the coating is not harmed in the deburring process.

Metal fabrication with Multitools, which can hold up to ten punches, multiple machining processes can be performed without having to change tools. We save space in the metal stamping magazine as well as time since fewer setups are required.

Marlin deploys special metal fabrication tools that prevent scratching. We also have metal stamping embossing and marking tools for indelible work piece identification.

No matter which tools your metal fabrication job requires, we have optimized our factory to make the manufacture of your metal stamping products fast and precise.

Setup Virtually Takes Care of Itself

With Marlin Steel metal fabrication, set up for your sheet metal work is always focused on perfection. Our metal stamping tools are quickly assembled from the punch, stripper and die. They are then inserted in the cartridge while the machine is running. For pre-loading, we only need one type of cartridge for all tools. The Marlin factory engineers place pre-loaded cartridges in the easily accessible linear magazine. Since all of the metal stamping magazine stations have a standard design, any type and size of tool or clamp can be loaded in any stations. Setup errors are immediately noticeable - not only because we have all of the tools in view at all times, but also because the machine automatically checks where the tools and clamps are located before the program runs.

Both Stable and Accessible

The design principle of all Marlin Steel metal fabrication machines is an open C frame, which makes both the machine and work piece accessible from three sides. There is plenty of room for loading and unloading the metal stamping machine - manually or with one of our automation components. The highly stable metal stamping machine means precise coordinate guidance, preventing deviations due to bumps or jerks. In addition, the accompanying work table supports the full surface of the sheet being processed to prevent inaccuracies.

Sorting with Certainty

We can unload metal fabrication work pieces quickly, increasing process reliability. Marlin Steel handles this with metal stamping programmable parts chutes, which transfer parts quickly into the finished parts bin. This process can also be supported with push-out tool. A vacuum sucks chips and punching slugs safely into the chip container, regardless of which die is used.

Good Combination

Marlin Steel opens up new perspectives, especially when used with metal fabrication MicroJoint technology, a process in which the punched parts remain connected to the sheet skeleton by small tabs. This metal fabrication machine combines high-productivity punching technology with space-saving integrated automation.

Marlin Steel is able to manufacture your single metal fabrication pieces quickly and as economically as small and medium-sized runs while easily meeting your high standards for quality and productivity.

Automatic Loading and Unloading

Marlin Steel gives you total confidence for completing metal stamping production quickly and efficiently. The integrated metal fabrication automation unit loads the machine with blank sheets and unloads the Micro-Jointed sheets.

Automatic Loading Cycle

Through a series of metal fabrication vacuum cups, raw material is lifted from a sheet stack and is loaded automatically onto the machine table quickly and accurately. Suction frame arm locations can also be adjusted based on sheet size and required cup location.

Automatic Unloading Cycle

Metal fabrication grippers remove the tabbed sheets as fast and accurately as in the loading cycle. The process is completely automatic, with no operator interaction. The finished sheets are placed onto the unload pallet and are ready for final processing with speed and precision.

Software: Programmed for Success

Our metal fabrication Punch software is designed with our customers' needs in mind. We developed it specifically for metal fabrication, metal stamping, punching and combination processing. From inception to the finished part, it completely utilizes Marlin Steel's expertise. It works well with our automation components and is intuitive and easy to use.

Marlin Steel metal fabrication machines are perfectly coordinated with one another. Only three steps are required to complete an NC program.

First, existing production drawings are imported from your 2D or 3D CAD system using metal fabrication Punch standard interfaces or they can be drawn in using dxf. The CAD functions are coupled with macros for frequently-used unusual geometries and make producing a drawing fast and efficient. Marlin Steel's metal fabrication Punch software analyzes every drawing. Open contours are automatically closed, duplicate drawing elements deleted and rough contour transitions cleaned up.

In the second step, optimized sheet layouts and the fastest production processes are created automatically or manually with Marlin Steel's metal fabrication Punch. Either way maximum metal stamping processing speeds are ensured. The nest processor calculates the best possible sheet layout for any number of individual parts. Even in manual layout mode there are numerous automation features making sheet layout fast, precise and reliable. Marlin Steel's metal fabrication Punch can process blanks and arrange fabricated single parts multiple times and with the least possible waste per sheet. The metal stamping software also allows us to define sample parts, which are produced ahead of the complete sheet.

The sheets are then processed - by rows, by columns or part by part, as required, for the most efficient tool usage, especially with small lot sizes.

Since Marlin Steel's Metal Fabrication Punch software knows every detail of every Marlin Steel part and die, it can find the fastest processing sequence for the machine. It defines the punching of single holes as well as complete contours. Marlin Steel's Metal Fabrication Punch automatically makes shared separation cuts between the work pieces as needed. The “automatic repositioning” and “trimming” functions program quickly and precisely. Finished metal stamping parts are discharged directly through a parts chute or unloaded by the SheetMaster automation component - Marlin Steel's Metal Fabrication Punch elects the right suction for the material and ensures that the finished parts are placed properly on the unloading stack. Marlin Steel's Metal Fabrication Punch is just as methodical in planning the loading and sheet skeleton removal processes.

In the third step, the metal fabrication software automatically creates the finished NC program and sends it to the machine. Along with the metal stamping NC program, Marlin Steel's Metal Fabrication Punch generates easy-to-read setup plans with detailed processing times and tolling information. Multiple metal stamping NC programs can also be combined into a single production plan for automated production.
