A Good Head for Punching
Marlin Steel metal fabrication punching machines really have a head for punching - an intelligent punching head which rotates all tools 360 degrees on the C axis to any angle, no matter what their shape, size or placement in the magazine. The benefits are obvious; with fewer metal stamping tools and the elimination of unnecessary tool changes, your costs are lower and the production of your sheet metal work is more precise. Part quality is increased since the tools are placed against the contour and nibbling is unnecessary. The 360 degrees of rotation has additional benefits. It simplifies the process of designing parts and programming the metal stamping machine allowing us to ship faster and more efficiently.
The Marlin Steel metal fabrication punching head will accept any tool. The hydrostatic bearing in the ram provides constant support to all tools that may be subjected to off-center loads with or without angles shear. This reduces the necessary punching force, which is not possible with other systems. The integrated spray lubrication protects tools while the active head return ensures process reliability.
The programmable metal stamping active presser foot helps perfect the metal fabrication machining process. When active, the foot presses down on the sheet just before each punch stroke and holds it level. Since the force of the presser foot can be independently adjusted, we are able to process your materials with sensitive surfaces without leaving pressure marks.
